Dak To
The surroundings of Dak To was during the American Vietnam war one of the places that was hit the most. In the center there are some monuments and just outside the center you can find the former runway where once dozens of flights daily departed. Read more >>>

Dien Bien Phu

Halong Bay

Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi
The former Saigon, the current Ho Chi Minh City, is the largest city in Vietnam and was the capital of South Vietnam for the reunification. The biggest attractions are the reunification palace and the War Remnants museum. Outside of Saigon you can visit the very interesting tunnels of Cu Chi. Read more >>>

Hoi An and My Son
Hoi An is one of Vietnam's main tourist attractions and tourists enjoy the cities car-free streets, the romantic harbor, the old (Colonial) buildings and the photogenic Japanese bridge. Nearby you can visit the old Champa ruins in the site of My Son. Read more >>>

Hue
In the 18th century the new leader of Vietnam chose Hue as his Imperial city and had a large citadel built with palaces, temples and pagodas. Just outside the city are the Imperial tombs as well as the demilitarized zone which was the dividing line between North and South. Read more >>>

Khe Sanh
The name Khe Sanh brings you back the Second Indochina war when the Americans put up this most eastern stronghold close to the Laos border. The camp was for months besieged by North Vietnamese soldiers. Now it’s a museum which you can visit. Read more >>>

Muong Phang (Dien Bien Phu)
It’s possible to go on a daytrip (by yourself) to a little village called Muong Phang not too far from Dien Bien Phu. Here you can visit the former Headquarters of the Vietminh Army during 1954. The caves that formed the main section are open to the public. Read more >>>

My Lay, My Son

Phat Diem
